In a class space, progress comes from engaging with each other’s ideas rather than from posting more of your own. There are four ways to respond, and they differ in how much they ask of you.
In this clip
- React — the markers name what an idea did for your thinking; they aren’t likes
- Mark promising — the class saying an idea deserves attention, a judgement that’s yours to make
- Comment — a quick thought that stays attached to the card without becoming an idea itself
- Build on — for a response big enough to earn its own card, so it doesn’t get lost
Try it: Find an idea you keep coming back to and mark it promising. Then ask yourself whether your own response is comment-sized or card-sized.
